A brief round up of some minor LSD Urban Legends. Some of these may be expanded to separate pages if more material comes in. If you've heard of these, or any other LSD ULs, please get in touch via the Contact Form.
VINTAGE ACID IN THE FRIDGE
"I once heard about a guy, an old acid head, who had saved a few hundred doses of California Sunshine in his fridge. He's saving it for when he gets old." Variations on this tale abound, but the LSD mentioned is always a well know variety from years ago. The implication being that the old stuff is the best. Shortly after the Operation Julie LSD events of 1977/78 this tale was updated to include the name of the main acid chemist, Richard Kemp. The name of Owlsey, the infamous U.S. LSD manufacturer is also often used in this tale.

CRAZED ON LSD
The Sun of 31 January 1986 ran a story about a 19 year old who allegedly killed his puppy while high on LSD, by putting it in the gas oven. See article here:

This is a variation on a well known UL which concerns the babysitter putting the baby in the microwave! But is this a true version of the fictional ULs? At first glance you might think so, but read on. The youth in question 'had snoked an LSD cigarette" prior to his dastardly deed. Had he now? And how would he do that then? I suspect it's more a case of using LSD as the scapegoat for his brain dead actions! And of course The Sun, being the Penny Dreadful it is would have been only too happy to hype the story.

STUDENT IN LSD DEATH PLUNGE
As everyone 'knows' LSD makes you think you can fly. This story has been a newspaper staple ever since Frank Olson forgot what floor he was on when he popped out for some fresh air. And here we have, on the surface at least, someone who died after jumping from a building. Yet read the text - there is not one shred of evidence to suggest that either the girl took LSD, was on LSD at the time, or if she was that the drug was the cause of her death.
